What is Involved in the Treatment
During your initial session, a health assessment will be taken to ensure that facial acupuncture is the right option for you. This is also an opportunity to discuss your treatment goals so that the sessions are tailored to your specific concerns. Treatment consists of Acupuncture needles which are inserted into the face, scalp, hands and feet to create a lift to the facial muscles. Small intradermal needles are then placed along fine lines and wrinkles to improve their appearance. Once in place, the needles are retained for 25 minutes.
How Many Treatments Will I Need?
To achieve and maintain the full benefits of Facial Enhancement Acupuncture, at least 10 weekly sessions are recommended. Following this course of treatments I would advise a maintenance programme of monthly or bi-monthly treatment depending on your treatment goals at that stage.
Who is Facial Enhancement Acupuncture Not Suitable For?
Although you may still be able to attend Acupuncture appointments for health reasons, Facial Acupuncture may not be suitable in the following circumstances:
If you have undergone treatments such as microdermabrasion, laser resurfacing, surgical facelift, Botox© or fillers within the last three months
If you have uncontrolled high blood pressure
If you are receiving treatment for cancer
If you are trying to conceive, are pregnant or breast feeding
If you have a fitted pacemaker
If you have a condition which causes excessive bleeding or bruising
